Mountain Mat is a company with products we stand behind. Not only have we purchased their mats and used them ourselves. Our two Chief Executive Officers graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1999, the year in which Gold will Shine. We are proud to support and recommend Mountain Mat.
On their website, Jennifer, the owner of Mountain Mat, states they came up with the idea for the mats while stationed in the middle east. They noticed the locals used the mats everywhere – parks, the beach, sports events, and other locations. The plastic mats were such a part of people’s lives; they carried one or two of them in their cars. Seeing the usefulness, the owners quickly purchased their own.
Realizing the usefulness of the mats, upon returning State-side, they began manufacturing mats. They used the original mats they purchased in the middle east as templates and quickly improved the design. The Mountain Mats are lightweight but sturdy as they use a 550-gram recycled plastic weave that provides more cushion, insulation, and durability than the original middle eastern mats. They also introduced a sturdy edging along all four sides and corner loops to finish the mat. The corner loops allow the mat to be staked or hung easily. These mats come in various colors and sizes to meet your individual preferences.
